Three Beauties

The house has been filled with more volume the past few days--a happy volume!(I needed to say that). These three ladies: my wife Lenya, Janae (Nate's fiance) and Stephanie Chapin (Janae's mom) have all been busy doing wedding stuff--planning for the big event taking place on November 2. The three beauties have worked long hard hours getting everything planned and have kept it all within the budget! Loads of fun, lots of laughter, hours of joy!

Hey Skip how are you? My name is Gabe. Back in May you dedicated my daughter Elise so maybe that might put a face to the name (maybe:)). At this past Wednesday night’s service I tried meeting up with you to ask you a question but you were swarmed by people so I didn’t have the chance. So if you don’t mind I'd like asking you now. This regards the rapture. What evidence is there supporting a pre-tribulation rapture? My aunt and uncle seem to not believe in a pre-tribulation rapture and I’m so new to Christ that I don’t even know what to believe.

Your Brother in Christ Jesus,

Gabe,

Get a book by renown theologian John Walvoord. It will give you the whole scoop. But here's a nutshell: #1 Historically: the early church believed in the imminency of the Lord's return. #2Pre-trib rapture makes the best and clearest distinction between Israel & the church, #3 Scripture makes the distinction between tribulation that comes from this world and the tribulation that will come from God ("God has not appointed us to wrath") #4 None of the New Testament references of the Tribulation mention the church, #5 The plain reading of Daniel 9's "Seventy Week" prophecy allows best for pre-trib rapture and this view maintains the unity of that text. That's a small sampling. God bless you

Dear Skip & Lenya,
First, our hearts are sad about Christopher Laurie. Knew you were close to them, so popped on to see how you were doing. We can only trust and believe that "ALL things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose."

Came across this link in your blog - and know you must be giddy with excitement for Nate and Janae - and welcoming your new daughter(in love)! And holidays with the Chapins...there will never be a dull moment!

Ross and I are thrilled for you guys. Blessings!
